Our trip to the Miner's Museum.

We had a fantastic trip to the Miner's Museum! Everyone enjoyed exploring the mine, learning about mining in the Victorian Era and dressing up too! We learned about Victorian life, in particular what it would have been like to be a child at this time. The children all decided that they would much prefer to go to school!! Here are some of the highlights of he trip.

Happy New Year!

A very 'Happy New Year!' to you all!
This week we took part in our innovate project based on our 'Light and Sound' topic. In groups of 4 we discussed what light and sound object we would like to create for our class sensory area. There were some fantastic ideas. Some children made light pictures, other's a shadow theatre and shiny shakers. Two groups recorded calming music by using specific instruments! By Friday, most groups had presented their  creations to the rest of the class. Well done everybody! We shall now use our sensory area next week!

Christmas 2014!

A very warm welcome back to school! I hope you all had a fantastic Christmas holiday and I would like to thank everyone for their generous Christmas gifts. Due to a technical hitch, I was unable to publish photos from just before the Christmas holidays where we enjoyed a very successful Christmas Concert, a lively Christmas party and  a range of practical science activities provided by Techniquest.
Here are some of the photos capturing our enjoyment at the end of last term!
