People Who Help us and a Nature Walk

Yesterday, P C Louise came to talk to Class 4 about keeping safe when out and about. Everybody listened really well and learned about what to do in a variety of different situations.

Today we went for a walk to find out what trees were growing in our Nature Reserve. The children had to look carefully at the leaves and use a chart to try to identify the trees. We found out that we have variety of different trees including, oak, ash and birch.

After that the children were really excited because they had a visit from some firefighters along with a fire engine. First of all the children had a talk about keeping safe and not to play with matches. The children listened really well and asked some interesting questions.

Finally the children went out to see the fire engine and they all got to squirt the hose and sit in the cab!!

What an exciting day!!

Bryngarw Trip

Class 4 had a wonderful day out in Bryngarw Park last Tuesday.
First we fed some ducks.

Then we went on a nature walk through the woods.

After that we went pond dipping. We found all sorts of pond life including, water boatmen, snails and tadpoles.

Then we went to the Secret Garden to look for mini beasts. We saw lots of creatures including butterflies, spiders, caterpillars and wood lice.

Next we had our lunch. We made use of the lovely sunny weather and sat outside under the trees. Then we all bought a lollipop and headed off to the Adventure Park where we had lots of fun.

Finally we had to go back to the double decker bus to go back to school. The children had a lovely day. They were all very well behaved and it was a pleasure taking them!
